god of war

God of War: Ragnarok was announced on September 16, 2020, and since then, nothing has been heard about it. At that time, it was revealed that the God of War sequel would release sometime in 2021, but it’s becoming more unlikely.

It’s all confirmed that the game won’t be releasing in 2021 after an insider from the games industry has teased that it won’t come out this year. Reputable Journalist Jason Schreier, broke the news on Twitter when asked about God of War: Ragnarok would be formally delayed.

While it won’t come as surprise to fans, it’s still disappointing to see that we won’t be able to get our hands on the game this year. However, this could be better for the overall product. Sony has 25 first-party PS5 games in development, nearly half are new IPs. A formal statement by Sony is yet to be made.

It is now more likely that the game will release in 2022. This will give developers more time to polish the game. Details on the game are extremely scarce right now. This is understandable, as the game is still in development. Cory Barlog has been very careful in not revealing anything about the game. If there is any indication, fans can look forward to an exciting narrative field, filled with twists and turns. Plenty of actions, and surprises.

In the mean time, check out my review on God of War (2018).
