Ghostrunner is coming to PS5 and Xbox Series this year on September 28.
Publisher 505 games revealed the upgraded version of the game and also said Ghostrunner 2 is already in the works for PC and next-gen consoles. The PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions of the game will be available as free upgrades to players who already own the game on PS4 and Xbox One.
On PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, Ghostrunner supports 4K and 120 FPS, also “instant loading, post-processing HDR, ray tracing, 3D audio” and many other features including haptic feedback for PS5 Dualsense Controllers. The Next-gen version of the game will also come with new modes such as time-attack Kill Run mode, photo mode, and Hardcore mode. The more accessible assist mode scheduled for this summer will also be available on PS5 and Xbox Series X.
If you don’t know what Ghostrunner is, I will tell you what it is. As Jack the Ghostrunner, the player must traverse dangerous environments by dashing, jumping, wall-running, and grappling. The player will also encounter enemies, which must be handled carefully, as both enemies and the player can be killed in one hit. Jack can use a mechanic called Sensory Boost, allowing him to slow down time and dodge and deflect bullets in midair. As the player progresses through the story, they will unlock new abilities and upgrades, which they can apply using tetromino-like pieces on a grid system.
