Hellblade 2 developer Ninja Theory has started doing practical effects to achieve highest level of details as possible for the game.
A short behind the scenes video showed by the Official Twitter account of Ninja Theory, shows staffs of the team setting what appears to be Senua’s clothing on fire with caption, “Sometimes to create, you must first destroy.” Below is the tweet, you can see for it by yourself:
It's high quality scans like this that will help us reach an amazing level of detail in our games. pic.twitter.com/UpokEyCCjr— Ninja Theory (@NinjaTheory) September 6, 2021
The follow-up tweet reveals, this is done in order to take high-quality photos of the clothing to use as reference when creating assets in the game. “It’s high-quality scans like this that will help us reach an amazing level of detail in our games,” the tweet reads.
Although the game was announced at E3 2019, Ninja Theory says that the game is yet to enter full production as of June 2021. According to the studio’s founder Tameem Antoniades, Hellblade was a very special game to the studio and so “[the team] wanted to do something extra special and so we’re making our lives as difficult as possible in that pursuit.” Perhaps it is better for them to take extra time as much as it is required to develop a well-polished game to the fans.
