Battlefield 2042 delayed

Battlefield 2042 has been officially delayed by EA to November 19, 2021. The game has been delayed by nearly a month.

“Building the next generation of Battlefield during a global pandemic has created unforeseen challenges for our development teams,” DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson said in a statement from the dev team. “Given the scale and scope of the game, we had hoped our teams would be back in our studios together as we move towards launch. With the ongoing conditions not allowing that to happen safely, and with all the hard work the teams are doing from home, we feel it is important to take the extra time to deliver on the vision of Battlefield 2042 for our players.”

The game was originally scheduled to release on October 22, 2021, and has been pushed back by four weeks exactly. Its delayed launch will still be a simultaneous worldwide affair on all platforms, and EA says it will offer updates on its previously announced open beta “later this month.” The open beta was always scheduled to arrive in the months leading up to the game’s release, and we’re technically just over two months away from that now, so it can’t be too far away.
